This is possibly the biggest “lightening rod” issue I’ve had the pleasure of illustrating. The subject of marijuana – medical use, prosecution, legalization, what have you – is a common enough topic for West Coast weeklies. I’ve illustrated so many articles that I’m contemplating assembling a themed exhibit. The combination of over-arching drug laws with the arrogance and ignorance of the officers involved really struck a nerve. Normally the online article will draw around a half dozen comments. At last count the current article has racked up a staggering 350.
The article has also been picked up by a number of other news outlets – Chronicfatigue209, Medicalmarijuana.com, Tokeofthetown.com and copwatch.com to name a few. For the record, I’m not an exactly “advocate”, I just draw whatever the subject demands. Pot just seems to be a popular subject of late. Another case in point…
